Guptor Aleksandr
Hi! My name is Aleksandr and I am from Russia, Siberia. In 2012, I came to China for the first time to study Chinese in Zibo city. I immediately liked Zibo and Shandong University of Technology because the campus is very picturesque and I felt really comfortable living within its friendly environment. I really liked my Chinese teachers and their teaching methods which was the main reason why after I finished my Chinese Language course, I chose to stay at SDUT and work in the department for International Students. In hindsight, it was and still is, the best decision I have made so far.
Simon and his families
In February 2015, I was very fortunate to attend SDUT, along with my Wife and our two young children, for a Semester. I was a recipient of the New Zealand Prime Ministers' Scholarship to Asia. From the moment we landed in Jinan and were met by the lovely Olivia from SDUT, we were made to feel very welcome. All of the Administration and Teaching staff were very supportive, helping us with the transition into a new culture as a family, as well as continual support, with my Chinese studies.
The local students were very friendly toward our family, and obviously delighted to see our young children, riding their bicycles, or playing on Campus. We made many friendships both on Campus, along with many, off Campus, with local, Zibo families. We had many offers of help from the Chinese students, whenever we were in need of their language/cultural skills, or help with anything from buying bicycles, to collecting train tickets from the Station. We were continuously overwhelmed by the generosity, as received from the friendships, that we made. Living on SDUT Campus and traveling around the City, we felt very safe and comfortable, and to our pleasant surprise, often, as we would imagine a Celebrity would feel. Overall, it was a life changing, very happy, exciting, fun-filled experience for our family, and one that we would recommend to other families, as a wonderfully, rewarding experience.

I’m a student from Wintec in New Zealand, one of SDUT’s partner institutes. I attended Shandong University of Technology for one term in 2015 and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I spent my time learning Mandarin; the course has helped me gain a great understanding of the Chinese language and I am now able to understand a basic level of written and spoken Chinese. The campus itself had so much to it, a variety of stores and places to eat as well as lovely grounds to walk across. Everyone at SDUT was so welcoming and helpful and I now have developed a fondness for SDUT.

I loved every moment I was blessed to have as a student at the Shandong University of Technology, through their teaching program I was able to acquire a foundation in Chinese language in 4 months which has opened doors to opportunities I only dreamed about prior to my going. The Chinese people and their amazing culture is something i will cherish for the rest of my life.
